| Accounting Information Services
...consists of a knowledgeable staff who are responsive and supportive of Facilities Services, providing a full range of business operations to the Business and Finance Division and providing support to all its customers. These services include budget preparation, financial reporting, internal and external billing, receivables, and payables.
This department maintains the department budget, working closely with other University offices, such as Accounting Services, Procurement Services, Business Office, Athletic Business, and Budget Office to provide an important link to all other finance offices.
A primary purpose of Accounting Information Services is to provide for the proper procurement and accounting resources acquired by Facilities Services and its units to ensure their proper use by Tennessee Board of Regents and State of Tennessee policies. Additionally, cost data and analysis reports are frequently prepared to aid the Facilities Services assistant vice president.
A progressive unit, the staff utilizes telecommuting technologies for paper intensive job duties. Invoice processing, journal entries, and data management are handled using the most modern accounting systems.
